District Governor, RY 2022 - 2023 | Rotary Club of Pasig South

 
Welcome to Rotary Year 2022-2023! To me, this is a culmination of my big dreams and wish to inspire all Rotarians in our district, especially my Imaginative Amazing Treasure Presidents, to become better versions of themselves as they give their very best to the world that truly deserves the best!

I have been preparing and anticipating this particular Rotary Year for the longest time! The gestation period from the time I dreamed and wished to be your District Governor, dreamt of becoming like the illustrious District Governors I have been wanting to emulate, gave me sufficient time watching all their moves with extreme admiration and passion. Indeed, for the past two years, I have been honed, reshaped, re-tooled, reinvigorated and hyped up by our District Leaders, the Regional Training Leaders, and by the distinguished Training Think-Tank of Rotary International!

Indeed, now I declare and commit to all of you my fellow Rotarians that I am ready to assume the leadership of the greatest District in Philippine Rotary!

I am all revved up to measure up to the superlative vision and strong determination of all the PDGs. I now have developed within me the distinct charisma so innate in a District Governor, the cerebral wittiness and intelligible vision to be able to inspire, lead and motivate all of my Amazing Treasure Presidents and District Team to emerge into better versions of themselves, to continually generate superlative ideas that will create positive impact and lasting change to the world around us!

I can only promise to dedicate myself to emulate the greatness of the District Governors before me and memorialize RY 2022-2023 as the most Imaginative Year in District 3800 with all my Imaginative Amazing Treasures – my Amazing Treasure District Officers, Amazing Treasure Presidents, their Spouses/Partners, and Amazing Rotaractors and Interactors – to celebrate our Rotary Year with bigger dreams of conducting sustainable humanitarian service projects aligned with the RI’s seven areas of focus, totally inspiring all of you to gear up to the immensity of the challenges facing us in the post Covid-19 era!

I commit myself to give my all, my very best, as I envision myself, together with all of you, to realize our dream to give the world our best that it truly deserves!

I further commit myself to celebrate my Rotary Year as DG by sharing our blessings, kindness, joy, and peace to all of District 3800! Let me lead all of you to fulfill and live by the four strategic priorities of Rotary International! Let us expand our reach and increase our impact! Tell the world of our great successes! Broadcast over all media, including social media, the great things Rotarians have done good to the world!

I also pledge myself for everyone to celebrate diversity, open our doors for others, and be inclusive to grow our membership. I pledge and commit myself to fully support the Rotary Foundation, by digging deeper into my pocket, to be able to continue serving humanity, opening doors for opportunities, serving to change lives! I promise to lead all Rotarians of District 3800, and together with PDGs Jun Farcon, Fabie Enriquez, and Mac Hermoso, to become new Arch Klump Society Members from our district in RY 2022-2023!

Moreover, with the full support of all the members of my Imaginative Amazing Treasure Team, I commit myself to fully engage our members, provide comfort and care for them and strive harder to keep them engaged through meaningful service and fellowship. Let us share with them our core values of Fellowship, Integrity, Diversity, Service and Leadership. Let us share to them our traditions, our culture, our heritage in Rotary!

“IMAGINE ROTARY”- the Presidential Theme for RY 2022-2023 is such an all-encompassing holistic vision which urges us to harness the power of Rotary, the magic of Rotary!

Imagine how Rotary can make the world a much better place to live in!

I would like all of my Imaginative Amazing Treasures to proclaim and shout out to the whole world their full and wholehearted dedication and commitment to Rotary District 3800 as we proclaim the Presidential Theme for RY 2022-2023!

Fellow Rotarians and everyone, these are my pledges and commitment to all of you! Join me in my Rotary journey to Imagine Rotary! Imagine all possibilities! Imagine our world transformed! Imagine a world that truly deserves our best! Imagine the power of Rotary! Together, we can have our dreams turn into reality!

Rotary International President, RY 2022 - 2023

 
Every month since I joined Rotary, I’ve looked forward to reading this magazine, especially the opening essay from our Rotary president. I’ll admit that as much as I appreciate a digital copy, I still revel in the tactile sensation of sitting down and leafing through the glossy pages. They are a treasure trove of photos and memorable stories about our great organization — the one we all know and love. I have learned so much over the years about service projects and lives that each of you have transformed.

As a communications professional, I have longed for the day that our stories were a regular part of mainstream media and that our flagship magazine might populate doctor’s offices, coffee shops, or anywhere else people sit, wait, and browse. It’s great that Rotary members are better informed about all we do, and wouldn’t it be that much better if more people knew our stories.

All this was top of mind as I thought about our plans for promoting Rotary worldwide in the upcoming year. Over the next 12 months, we are going to shine a light on projects that put Rotary service on display to the world, and we are going to do it strategically. Nick and I will focus on some of the highest impact, sustainable, and scalable Rotary projects from our areas of focus in what we call the Imagine Impact Tour.

We are inviting top-tier journalists, thought leaders, and influencers to use their channels to help us raise awareness by reaching people who want to serve but have not yet realized they can do it through Rotary.

But there was another important issue to consider — our carbon footprint. I take seriously Rotary’s emerging leadership position on environmental issues. The example set by our members during the pandemic is fundamental to how we carve out our future.

That means we will harness digital technology to tell these stories — we will be tweeting, posting, and “going live” to anyone who will listen. We must consider our environment, and part of that means always traveling but continuing to connect in meaningful ways as we have for the past two years.

Of course, we are social people, and we still need to be together. We simply need to be more mindful of our decisions and think about how we get together just a little bit differently. For example, if we travel to visit a project, we will plan successive visits in neighboring areas.

So, what are your stories and who can help tell them? I hope you might consider your own Imagine Impact efforts — your story might be something you can promote just as easily on social media or during a Zoom call. Think about ways to showcase notable projects in your clubs and districts.

We all feel the impact that Rotary service and values have on us. Now it’s our opportunity to share that feeling with others.
