RCMNC launches projects in Empowering Girls and Saving Mothers and Children

RCMNC implemented 4 projects along with their partners-in-service, the Rotary Community Corps of Metro Novaliches Caloocan (RCCMNC) and the Rotaract Club of Metro Novaliches Caloocan (RACMNC) led by its 2 Presidents - Mrs. Lumen and RAC Pres Anika Roa, respectively. The projects were implemented on October 29, 2022 during Typhoon Paeng at Barangay 185 Livelihood Education and Rehabilitation Center, Malaria, Caloocan.

The first project was "Magtanim ay Di Biro, Sagip Kalikasan" wherein RCMNC distributed 1,250g of Moringa (Malunggay) seeds and fertilizers for the mothers of the aforementioned barangay. Seeds were planted by the mothers and after 25 days of germination period, these were shared with other mothers. What is in Moringa? It contains different vitamins that enhances beauty and reduces cholesterol and sugar in your body. It could also be used as a cooking ingredient.

"Negosyo para kay Inay, Ikagiginhawa ng Buhay" was another project to empower girls. RCCMNC chose 2 women as financial assistance in starting a small food business which were sold in their barangay and at the livelihood center. Also, the Metronovans demonstrated their skills in meat processing led by Rtn. Nilda Sumabat. Food tasting followed afterwards to savor the longganisa and tocino.

For Saving Mother and Children area of focus, RCMNC gave 30 pieces of Enfamama milk to brighten the day of the mothers and make them healthier. Also, in partnership with Lueur Lauren had a skin care demo for some women who attended the said project. They distributed 60 pcs of collagen essence white and wrinkle sheet masks which are hypo allergenic, vegan-friendly, and no harmful chemicals.

The Rotary Club of Metro Novaliches Caloocan showed their unity and solidarity by proudly promoting "End Polio Now" hand signal to celebrate post-World Polio Day.
