One of Rotary’s greatest strengths is the ability of our members to come together to create lasting change, and The Rotary Foundation helps us transform dreams of change into reality.

From eradicating polio to building peace, much of the work we do around the world would not be possible without our continued support of our Foundation.

The cause of peace is especially important to me, and one of the most effective ways we build peace is our Rotary Peace Fellowship — a product of The Rotary Foundation. The program helps current and aspiring peace and development
professionals around the world learn how to prevent and how to end conflict.

Thanks to a $15.5 million gift from the Otto and Fran Walter Foundation, we can continue supporting peacebuilders in more regions with the next Rotary Peace Center, at Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul.

Opening yet another peace center is a monumental achievement that we will celebrate at the 2025 Rotary Presidential Peace Conference in Istanbul.

The three-day conference 20-22 on February, 2025 will highlight the many ways our family of Rotary advocates for peace.

Keynote speakers, panel discussions, and breakout sessions will allow us to share ideas about building peace and foster meaningful conversations about promoting peace everywhere.

Registration for the Presidential Peace Conference is open. I hope to see you there, but if you can’t make it, our Foundation offers so many ways to change the world for the better. November is The Rotary Foundation Month, a great time to get to know your Foundation better and pursue causes that appeal to you.
Global grants support large international activities with sustainable, measurable outcomes in Rotary’s areas of focus. By working together to respond to pressing community needs, clubs and districts strengthen their global partnerships.

District grants fund small-scale, short-term activities that address needs in your community and in communities abroad.

Each district chooses which activities it will fund with these grants. Our Foundation can even help you support our wonderful youth programs, including Rotary Youth Exchange, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, and Interact.

Your gifts to our Foundation also make Programs of Scale possible. These are long-term projects that seek to solve otherwise intractable problems.

To ensure these good works continue beyond our lifetimes, it is up to us to reach our ambitious Rotary Endowment goal of $2.025 billion by 30 June 2025.

The Magic of Rotary does not appear out of nowhere. We create the magic with every new member inducted, every project completed, and every dollar donated to our Foundation.

Please join me in supporting The Rotary Foundation, and together, we will change the world for the better.

This month of November, we celebrate The Rotary Foundation (TRF) Month. Time and again, we are reminded to share our blessings to our less fortunate brothers and sisters through the TRF.

Indeed, the TRF is one of the avenues for sharing. TRF’s mission is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill and peace through the improvement of health, education support, and poverty alleviation. Our TRF contributions directly support Rotary member-led service projects that supply clean water, support mothers and children, promote education, protect the environment, prevent disease, and will one day end polio.

Along this line, we encourage everyone to help raise funds and awareness for TRF this Giving Tuesday, 3 December 2024. Indeed, this global day of generosity is an opportunity for all members to make a big impact with a gift of any size. A donation to Annual Fund-SHARE supports projects you are passionate about, both in your community and around the world. A gift to PolioPlus helps transport vaccines and immunize children to keep them safe.

Please take note that TRF will again recognize the top three clubs in fundraising, donor participation, and online giving. Just be sure the gifts are made on 3 December!

As we approach this day of giving, let us remind our members that every contribution, regardless of size, helps Rotary create positive change in in the world. We know that with your help, we can make an even bigger impact
because of Giving Tuesday!

On another note, let me congratulate RC Mutya ng Pasig for successfully hosting the district’s End Polio Now Campaign last November 6, 2024 in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City. Dubbed as “Sabayang Patak Kontra Polio,” it was a successful event that benefitted around 100 babies aged 1 1/2 to 3 1/2 months. Spouse Raquel and I extend our special thanks to End Polio Now Zone 10A Coordinator and Past District Governor (PDG) Marilou Co, PDG Tony Co, District Governor-Elect Gina Sanchez, the Irresistible District Officers, the Irresistible Presidents, other Rotarians, spouses and guests who participated in that event.

Also, let me congratulate and thank Zones 4 and 5 for successfully hosting the 2nd Breakfast Meeting of the Irresistible Team at Club Filipino last November 9, 2024. Indeed, it was a must-attend and productive meeting as we discussed some important Rotary topics over breakfast. Special thanks to District Deputy Secretary (DDS) Josephine Bernabe, the Senior Assistant Governors, Assistant Governors and Irresistible Presidents of the host zones.

The month of November culminates with the Taipei Institute on November 29, 2024 to December 1, 2024 at the Grand Hotel Taipei. Expect another wonderful international conference experience in that event. I invite everyone to join us represent our district in that very important Rotary international gathering in Taiwan!
